The first thing...why the f*ck marry a woman if she is not pregnant? It is outright stupid, they are both adult poeple and they can have as much sexual intercorse they wish without marriage. And they can have it with freedom if they don't marry or live together.

The other thing...he seems to look at marriage or relatitonships as lifelong/permanent. This is also wery old-fashioned and naïve. Nowdays we have relationships for fun, as long as we like it. When we think it is dull or want something new, we change our way of living.

MAybe things are a bit different in the US than here in Eurpoe......US can be a bit conservative sometimes, but as a european/scandinavian I find this very sad and very naive. I hope he can get over it and go on with his life.

Now he is a lawyer. He will earn lots of money! In a little while he can have lots of women to pick and choose from. :)

for me it has to be radio-dating, the age of everything.

it contradicts so many belief systems and also gives the universe's chemistry set the means to do so many 'experiments' with varying results.. with so much time, so much is possible....

Genetic heredity! The fact that humans and chimps are closer related to each others than chimps and gorillas! But foremost, all these primates have the same mutation in i specific gene...a mutation that makes us dependent to get external vitamine C through food. This disproves indirectley creationism....unless God is a sadistic bastard thats creates different species with the same mutation!

When you were a JW, Did you think Prayers did any good?

the missing 21 year old woman in oregon got me thinking...so many jws comment on her fb page 'praying for you'...'constant daily prayers' etc.

what is the point?

i know it is a natural human emotion, to want to contribute in some small way when something bad happens.

Nope! I grew up in the JW but I never was a true believer! I thougt prayers were ridiculous..why on earth keep nagging on an omniscient god?

recently i told you all that i wanted to e-mail two friends some of the things i was struggling with in an effort to help them wake up or at least for them to understand me...97% of you all told me that it was a bad idea.

i still decided to do it.

so i e-mailed her sincerely asking questions on five points---1) health care flip flops 2) false prophecies 3) mediatorship of jesus 4) un 5)1918.. she replied about 8 hours after.

Sad story Ms growing Girl! But....the people here have a lot of experience! Trust what you read here! If you want to fade you have to be quiet and not rock the boat! I myself have been a fader (in good standing) since 23 years. And....never never never ever believe that you could help your friends to see the "truth about the truth"! Just forget that!

Service meeting topic: Masturbation

one of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.

i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).

looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.

Some of them were probably psychotic. Isaiah heared "God voice" telling him to take off his clothes, After that he walked around naked for 3 years. Ezekiel did some strange things like using shit when he baked his bread. Hoseah heared Gods voice telling him to get out and pick up a hooker, marry her and produce children of.....you know what!
